  • Transfer Cards
    Posted On: Jun 27, 2022
Transfer cards are not something many of us are very familiar with.  This is because, for most of us, the local we hired in is the local we spend our career in.  However, transferring locals has become more common in recent years due, in large part, to the Arbitration victory we secured a few years back.  We prevailed through multiple Third Division awards which affirmed the rights of our BNSF members to district transfer.  Consequently, a member transferring from one local to another is much more common than it used to be.  Accordingly, we would like to remind all members that the obligation to transfer their local affiliation does not reside with the local financial secretary. While they have been diligent in assisting members with the transfer process, the requirement to request a transfer card, per Article I Section 176 of the BRS Constitution, resides solely with the transferring member.  Please ensure you transfer locals along with your district transfer.
