As fall approaches, we are now in full swing where bargaining for your next contract is concerned. Each side has made their initial proposal and, as you might imagine, those proposals were very far apart in terms of value to the members. As is customary, the DTO is attempting to get by with paying as little as they must for labor costs. Conversely, we understand the challenges our members face living in the greater Denver area on the wages prescribed in our CBA. Therefore, we are seeking some aggressive adjustments to those wages, as well as comprehensive work rule changes.
Despite the immense gulf between the starting position of the two parties, we can report that progress is being made, and we are getting closer to reaching an agreement you can be proud of. With a little luck (and more movement in our direction by the Carrier) we hope to have a tentative agreement in your hands for consideration well before the expiration of your current contract on 12/31/25.
