Under the terms of the BNSF Implementing Agreement of July 1, 2000, former ATSF maintainers, vacation relief maintainers and inspectors were given the option to either remain under former ATSF pay rules, such as Rules 12, 13, 14 and 15, or make an election to be covered under BN monthly rated rules. The Implementing Agreement of 2000 contemplated that this election in future years would be subject to unanimous consent of all employees on a district.
In order to provide members an individual choice on the pay rules they fall under, a recent Agreement was reached with BNSF. The parties agreed to allow a one-time 60-day window for any members covered under former ATSF pay rules to elect coverage under former BN monthly rated rules. If you are currently covered under ATSF pay rules and are interested in such a change, you have until October 31 to return the necessary form to your manpower planner.
