The committee would like to remind all members the annual open enrollment period for United Healthcare is during the month of October. It is at this time when members can make selections regarding various health care options. All employees who currently participate in the flexible spending account program, as well as those who wish to begin participating, must designate their contribution amount for the upcoming calendar year during this time. The same is true for employees wishing to opt-out of medical care coverage from UHC and instead receive the 100 dollar per month credit. If an employee lives in an area which includes more than one network carrier for their medical plan, this selection can also be made during open enrollment. It is important to remember these selections must be made every October. The maximum allowable contribution for an FSA is set by the federal government and is currently 2850$/yr.
