The recent round of national bargaining resulted in a contract being imposed by Congress. The imposed contract includes general wage increases for 2020-2024 totaling 22%. Appendix L of the BNSF/BRS Agreement is where the current rates for all classifications described in Rule 2 can be found. This document is kept up to date by the committee and is published here on our website under the “rates of pay” tab in the member resources area.
We are working with the BNSF payroll management team and Labor Relations to confirm the appropriate rates are reflected on Appendix L. While the complete document can be found on our website, some examples of the rate changes include the following:
The signalman hourly rate will immediately go from $34.06 to $38.85. At the conclusion of the term (2024), the BNSF signalman rate will be $42.22. The signal maintainer monthly rate will immediately go from $7473.09 to $8524.35. At the conclusion of the term, the monthly signal maintainer rate will be $9264.26. The Former ATSF hourly maintainer rate will immediately go from $35.59 to $40.57 and will conclude the term at $44.09. The signal inspector monthly rate will immediately rise from $7828.58 to $8929.86 and will conclude the term at $9704.97 per month. The signal electronic technician monthly rate will be immediately increased from $7915.77 to $9029.30 and will finish out in 2024 at $9813.04.
